Yukon variety exhibits excellent cold tolerance and superb turf quality. Yukon is the golf course manager's top choice for excellent tees, fairways and roughs throughout the transition, tropical and sub-tropical zones. In trials in Oklahoma it has shown excellent turf quality and winter hardiness at both 0.5 inch and 1.5 inch mowing heights.

Highest ratings for turfgrass quality, color, density and texture as well as excellent winter survival and cold tolerance, rank Yukon Bermudagrass as one of the best choices for turfgrass managers. Golf superintendents, parks and sports field managers, as well as other quality turf professionals will find this improved turf-type seeded Bermudagrass a high performer on their projects. The variety has been released to Seed Research of Oregon and Johnston Seed Co. for seed production, marketing and distribution. High quality certified seed will be available on a limited basis in 2000.

YUKON ADVANTAGES
Yukon uses up to 25% less water than other Bermudagrasses, while maintaining superior turf quality, according to university studies. In Oklahoma, Mississippi and Arkansas, Yukon has surpassed all other seeded varieties and many of the vegetative varieties for Spring Dead Spot resistance, Early Spring Green-up and Winter Survival. Yukon's performance exceeds many sod or seeded Bermudagrass varieties available today.

YUKON (OKS91-11) - Fine textured turf bermudagrass variety with increased turf density. Dark green color, reduced plant height and reduced lateral growth rate for improved turfgrass performance. This variety will outrank Tifway 419 under some management systems.
